Rob Machado Mashup Review
The Mash Up seems to be a great hybrid surfing surfboard that will generate speed and will be a great option for those not so good waves with little power and all this without losing its capabilities in bigger waves.
Don't miss our Firewire Mashup video review and review on youtube. Our team puts Rob Machado's new surfboard surfboard to the test and we give you our honest opinion about it.
The best of the Firewire Mashup
- Made of HELIUM II, it is a super light and extremely strong and fast surfboard.
- Fast edge-to-edge transitions
- Adapts to a fairly wide range of conditions
- A great option for those not-so-good, low-powered waves
- More radical surfing than the Seaside and much more maneuverable
- Great paddling power
Which fins surfboards do we recommend for the Firewire Mashup?
You could say that the Mashup was designed as a quad - and although the maneuverability is improved with a 3 fins configuration, in thruster configuration the surfboard surf feels much slower and you have to put a lot more effort into linking turns. So we went with the quad option.
- Trifin: New Endorfins Kelly Slater thruster ENDORFINS
- Quad: New Endorfins by Kelly Slater, or the option we like the most: Fins Quad Rob Machado
Rob Machado and Futures have developed a specific model of fins quad for this surfboard. This is the fins Quad Firewire Seaside Rob Machado Futures. SEE MACHADO QUAD QUILLS which are the same fins that we use for the Firewire Seaside.
These fins are available in both FCS2 and Futures. We recommend this surfboard in Futures configuration.
which size do we recommend?
If you are coming from a high performance short surfboard, I would add a little extra volume to help maximize the Mashup's capabilities in small waves.
what kind of waves do we recommend this surfboard for?
Rob Machado and Dan Mann's Mashup is a surfboard designed for waves between 0.3 and 1.5m in size.
what type of surfer do we recommend the Firewire Mash Up for?
Designed for both intermediate and more demanding surfers.
If you are looking for a surfboard that flows easily in the wave and can take advantage of all its speed to put strong and powerful turns, it is a surfboard that you should consider.
