want to maximize your surfing performance even when the waves aren't perfect? The Pyzel High Line is a new high performance surfing surfboard that Pyzel Surfboards has developed with feedback from John and Nathan Florence, Tyler Wright, Nic Von Rupp and most of the junior riders around the world.
PYZEL HIGHLINE
Since its launch, we've seen the Highline take over competition quivers from riders like Tyler Wright, who took podium finishes two years in a row at the WSL Bells Beach 22' and 23' events, surfing his 5'8" Highline.
Designed to excel in regular to good waves, and based on the popular and versatile "Pyzel 74" model (surfboard surfing Dane Reynolds' 2016 Stab in the Dark contest winner).
TECHNICAL FEATURES HIGHLINE PYZEL
- They have left the rocker unchanged, but have updated the foil and outline to fit the idea of a modern HPSB.
- The bottom features a mid/high rocker in the nose and a mid rocker in the tail for more propulsion in slow conditions. It has a single concave running the entire length of the bottom, mixed with a double concave between the fins. These combinations of contours and curves generate lift for fast acceleration, maintain speed and propulsion, and help the surfboard roll from rail to rail with ease.
- The wide point of the outline is just behind the center and has a pronounced hip that adds propulsion by creating a pivot point that allows for fast, vertical surfing.
- Like the "Pyzel 74", the deck is slightly flatter than the other surfboards, with more volume in the rail area. The rail itself is refined, not square, which keeps it responsive and easy to push through turns.
- When compared to the Pyzel Radius model (as these two are similar to each other within the same range), the Pyzel Radius has more overall rocker and is more suited for waves with a bit of curve in the face.
- The High Line's rocker is slightly flatter, both in the nose and tail, and tends to hold more speed in weaker waves and carry speed through flatter waves more easily, however, it still has enough rocker to allow for easy vertical surfing.
- In addition, the stock size Highline has a bit more width and volume per size (most have about a half to a liter more volume), which adds flotation and propulsion in smaller waves.
In summary, the High Line is a great high performance surfboard for good to below average waves. It will help you get the most out of your everyday surfing and elevate your surfing performance.
