CI G SKATE
The new Channel Islands G-Skate Surfboard is designed to inspire you with the characteristic energy of the Gudauskas brothers. Pure energy.
This fast and responsive surfboard swallowtail surfboard design is the result of a collaboration between Britt Merrick and the three Gudauskas brothers.
Wanting something skatey and fast, they developed a surfboard with light single concave with light single and double concave, low entry rocker
The result is blistering speed.
what fins do we recommend for the CI G SKATE?
This stoke-infused collaboration also yielded an all-new Merrick / Gudauskas 2 + 1 fin set for the G Skate. The purpose of this twin plus trailer fin set-up was to offer the beautiful “free feel” of a twinnie yet have the refined control of a thruster—which is critical in creating a board that accommodates the broad spectrum of approaches between all three G Bros
The recommended fin configuration is a 2 + 1 fin set up. The brand recommends Futures Fins AMT fins. These fins give you that "free feeling of freedom" of a twinfin, but the refined control of a thruster, which has been one of the basic fundamentals that has been sought with the creation of this board.
Another combination in futures fins that we like a lot if you are going to use the board in twin fin, are the Son Of Cobra fins and the CI Britt Merrick fins, that we already recommended for the CI Twin Pin.
The 3 Gudauskas brothers: Dane, Patrick and Tanner have a different surfing style and thanks to this 2+1 configuration this board is suitable for all kind of surfers.
If you buy the board instead of Futures Fins, with FCS2 configuration, we recommend Mark Richards 2+1 fins. Available in various colors.
for what kind of waves do we recommend the G-Skate of the Gudauskas brothers and Al Merrick?
The G-Skate serves as a strong utility piece in any quiver where fun and performance are the goal, especially considering that while it is suggested with the design it also thrives as a thruster, giving the surfer twice the options and value when choosing a surfing surfboard.
The G-Skate sits just above your Bobby Quad and just below your Rocket Wide, but is well suited for dipping into the low-end wave range of the CI Bobby Quad and the higher wave range of the CI Rocket Wide.
what size surfboard G SKATE Channel Islands do we recommend?
Mount this surfboard 3" to 4" shorter than your usual surf surfboard and the same thickness as your CI Pro.
