  • Carver

CARVER: Official ONLINE SHOP of Carver Skateboards

Carver Skateboards is the world's leading brand in surfskates. Manufacturers of surfboards for asphalt. It is a pleasure and pride for us to inform you that we already have available in our online store the most influential brand in the world of surfskate, Carver Skateboards. With more than 20 years in the market, is the most powerful and best known brand in the world.

It all started in Venice, California when Greg Falk and Neil Carver were looking for waves in the summer, but none could be found. They started experimenting on street surfers to get the surf-like skate experience and slowly progressed until they got to the current signature truck.

    CARVER AXLES

Carver Skateboards has 3 axes. The C7, CX and C5. The popular Carver C7 axle has been very popular with surfers since its inception. However, it did not stop with those who came from the skateboarding and longboarding world. This is how the Carver CX Axis was born. A new axle a little bit simpler, that mixes part of the C7 with a conventional axle.

    CARVER C7

This is the first axis that Carver created. An axis with which the brand has achieved the leadership in this new modality of the surfskate. An axis that allows you a much more radical turn in flat and a fast pumping that in turn will allow us to achieve greater speed. Carver's C7 axle is the most used by both amateur and professional surfers for dry training.

Some compare the feeling of pumping with a Carver C7 to that of flowing with a Single Fin. As if it were a compass, this axis allows you to draw lines and work on style and posture. If you are thinking of buying a surfskate and you are looking to replicate the sensations you have on a surfboard, the C7 axis is for you.

Perfect for dry workouts. This axle is sold together with the C2 rear as a 'Set' with screws and lifters, or as a 'Kit' with wheels, bearings, lifters, screws and a Carver key. On some models you can choose the finish of the axle. Graphite or matt black.

    SEE CARVER C7 MODELS

    CARVER CX

This axle, unlike the previous one, does not have an articulated arm and is much simpler at first sight. Although it allows us a less radical turn, it forces us to exaggerate more the positions and to have to mark much more the turns. Something that will help us improve our technique. "Radical, energetic, very fast response" is how they define it from Carver Spain.

    SEE CARVER CX MODELS

    DIFFERENCES CARVER C7 VS CX

If we compare the Carver C7 Axis vs CX, clearly the C7 Axis is a smoother turning axis and faster pumping axis. This creates momentum and acceleration; thus, reaching high speeds. This is the axis that most closely resembles surfing movements, and therefore Its dry execution transports us immediately to the sea. No matter what level you are in, these axes are ideal for any level of surfing.

On the other hand, we have the Carver CX. This axle creates spectacular turns and pumps, offering more reactive movements and being stable in descents. Most common movements among people who have extensive experience in surfing. The Carver CX allows you to pump like a C7 and in turn allows you to perform more radical skateboarding maneuvers. Like landing on air and fakie with much more ease.

    CARVER C5

For years Carver Skate has been mixing surf with skate, but as surfskate progresses and riders increasingly incorporate more traditional skate tricks into their repertoire, the brand decides to launch an axle design that allows that progression to be followed. This is how the C5 axes were born. Lower and narrower axles, new school board with double kick and smaller wheels. All this thinking about facilitating the performance of tricks while maintaining a perfect grip for your carvings and a skid point suitable for your snaps.

The new system (C5 /C5 front and C4 rear) is shorter and narrower, lowering the center of gravity and giving more "pop" to the tail. This allows for higher ollies and better control. The narrower hanger on both the deck and hanger keeps it light and very maneuverable. This is the new generation of surfskates, mixing tricks and flow in a complex expression across the Urban landscape.

    SEE CARVER C5 SURFSKATES

How to choose a Carver Skateboard

Depending on the surfing style you have or the board you use, some surfskates will be better than others, but don't forget that this is an essential tool to train you out of the water and improve your tactics!

The boards are measured in inches and we can find from the smallest, with 25.5″, and the largest, with 42″.

The smaller ones react faster to movements. They provide nerve. Large boards, on the other hand, have stability. Along with the board's inches, the wheelbase must also be taken into account. Not all boards of the same size have the same wheelbase. This distance influences the dynamics of the whole board.

If you have doubts about which carver skate to buy, consult our GUIDE or write to us. We will be happy to help you with the purchase of your first carver skateboard.

So we are well placed to talk about all aspects of Mick Fanning's softboards.

Check out our BLOG where we have reviews and opinions of all the Australian surfer's boards.

ARE MICK FANNING SOFTBOARDS A GOOD BEGINNER SURFBOARD?

Mick Fanning's softboards are not the conventional softboards for beginners. These boards are laminated with fiberglass, have a longitudinal carbon reinforcement, and FCSII keel system. In other words, they are epoxy surfboards covered with EVA.

These Fanning softs are made of a "sponge-like" material called foam. All of them have an important characteristic with respect to the rest of the soft boards on the market. They offer great stability, are ideal for catching all kinds of small waves and their material prevents other surfers from being hit hard.

    MATERIAL

Learning to surf is one of the most fun times in surfing as Mick Fanning says, but can also be dangerous if you get hit by your board or someone else gets hit. So Mick decided to make a board that was both safe and sick with the best performance.

Each Model and Size in the MF Softboards Range is Designed To Mick's Specifications Using Advanced CAD Software. The EPS Core is CNC Milled Producing a Softboard With Unmatched Performance.

The Carbon Fibre is recessed into the deck of the EPS Core resulting in storage of potential energy during bottom turns with a progressive release resulting in a smooth transition during top turns Resulting in a Softboard that offers Speed, Power and Flow

Which model of Mick Fanning to buy?

There are 6 models of MF Softboards: Little Marley, Eugenie, Beastie, Black Diamond, Twin fin soft by Fanning the Twinny model and the new Catfish. Contrary to what many may think, these boards are perfectly suitable for intermediate level surfers. Depending on your level of surfing, your surfing style and the type of waves you want to surf there is a model for you.

    LITTLE MARLEY

Mick Fanning's Little Marley FCSII  is a short, wide, fast and very fun softboard. It has a short rail that fits perfectly to the smallest waves. Its slight curvature will help you get the most out of those soft waves on the beach, giving you that extra bit of speed to have fun like a dwarf. This little rocket is a very fun board suitable for all types of surfers.

    BEASTIE

Mick Fanning's Beastie is a softboard with an evolving shape ideal for improving your surfing. The Beastie has a generous outline which makes it easy to take off and paddle. Perfect softboard for those looking to progress in their surfing and jump to the next level or for that surfer looking for an alternative to a soft top version longboard.

    TWINNY MF SOFTBOARDS

The new Twin Fin by Mick Fanning has been designed for summer fun! A bit of nostalgia with a modern touch that makes it the perfect board for surfing waves from half a meter to last meter. The board includes the option to add a stabilizing keel for surfing larger waves (up to 1.8 meters) . A very good option for those who have never tried a 2-fin board.

    BLACK DIAMOND

The Black Diamond surfboard is one of the best known models of the Australian brand DHD Surfboards. A surfboard that has the volume moved to the front of the board to offer a better paddling and that is easier to catch the waves. The tail with a little pin tail helps in the turns and in keeping in the pocket of the wave. An excellent board that paddles extremely well and very fast when surfing with the front foot.

    EUGENIE

The Mick Fanning Eugenie FCSII Softboard is a replica of a board shaped by Mick Fanning for surfing on the Gold Coast during the small days. Designed for ease of use and to ensure the performance of the board when the waves start pumping. Mick Fanning has described this board as "the perfect design for kids learning to surf". The board also performs very well in small or summer waves for more experienced surfers.

    CATFISH

The Catfish is Mick Fanning Softboards' new softboard model. A super fun hybrid surfboard. The Catfish is inspired by the speed and flow of boards from the 70's, when there were no rules. The Cat Fish will handle most conditions you throw at especially when you upgrade your fins to the FCSII Split Keel or Futures Controller set!

Soon we will talk about it in our BLOG.

WHICH MICK FANNING SOFT MODEL TO BUY?

In our Blog you can find a comparison of Mick Fanning's Boards. We leave you the link here. Anyway, in each of the technical sheets of these models, we tell you what kind of surfers we recommend each of these boards for.

    MF SOFTBOARDS OPINIONS

  • Superfrog Designs

Gérard Dabbadie shaped his first board in 1972. A surf fanatic, he worked first on his own riding style and technique, then used the experience and his contact with the top surfers of the day to start creating his own highly personalized shapes that quickly found favor with many top European riders.

In 1975 while based in Hossegor, France (Surf Capital of Europe) he created his signature board brand “Superfrog”, and went on to become a full-time professional shaper. With his philosophy of “shaping easy, fun-to-ride boards, for all kinds of conditions, with no compromise on strength and performance”, Gerard wasn’t content to follow trends of the day. He was among the first to build boards using epoxy resin and EPS foam, at the time a radical departure from the traditional mix of polystyrene foam and polyester resin that was much heavier and less durable.

There is no other board on the market that has so many fiberglass layers, and therefore such strength. Even so, Superfrog boards are amazingly light, the result of 30 years of experience using this construction technology and best quality raw materials on the market, plus the passion to make it happen. But for Gerard, it’s all about shaping and surfing, rather than dreaming up marketing spiel : NO BLAH BLAH BLAH, as the man himself would and does say.

In the 1990s, longboards made a re-emergence. Now under Takayama's Hawaiian Pro Designs label, and located in North County, San Diego, Takayama along with eight time World Longboard champion, Joel Tudor produced functional and also collectible surfboards.
